Results of the December 2 & 3, 2025 Meetings

First of all, we wanted to thank the citizens who attended our community meeting on Dec 2 and the Planning and Zoning meeting on Dec 3rd. The sea of red shirts at City Hall had a tremendous impact. And we were so proud of how you are standing up for our community. We are a strong team when we work together.
Greetings, everyone,
Royal Oak Neighbors is now 3 years old – yes, its true! Many things have changed along the way in these 3 years – but one constant is our goal-to preserve Quality of Life and Home Values for you, the Royal Oak residents.

TIME FOR ACTION

We need you to be present at the following meetings, preferably wearing a red shirt in solidarity with our group.
Dates
January 7, 2026       6:00pm         Planning & Zoning, City Hall
January 13, 2026     6:30pm         City Council, City Hall

UPDATE

At the planning & Zoning meeting on December 3, Kolter Group requested a continuance (tabling) of the application until the January 7, 2026 meeting. The vote was unanimous to approve the continuance.
We were so proud of our residents packing the room, in a sea of red shirts. What an impact it had on the commission members (and applicant.) We must repeat that on Jan 7 and 13, as Royal Oak Neighbors asks the decision makers to DENY the applicant’s request for change in Land Use from recreational to residential. Planning & Zoning makes a recommendation to the City Council; the City Council has the final vote.
If City Council approves the applicant’s request, it would be sent to the state, who would take 30-60 days to review, then back to the city, who would then prepare ordinances for public hearings for Planning & Zoning and City Council.

OUR GOAL IS TO SEE THIS DENIED AT THE JANUARY MEETINGS.

Enjoy the holidays, mark your calendars, and keep your red shirt handy.
We will continue to inform you of any changes. As always, contact us with any questions.
